The story follows a young Russian Jewish immigrant named Molly who struggles to fit in at her new American school. As Thanksgiving approaches, Molly's class is assigned to create Pilgrim dolls, and her mother helps her by making a doll dressed in traditional Russian attire, explaining that they, too, are pilgrims seeking freedom.
